In truth, I was foolish enough to think I could make it. But reality has its own way of reasserting its dominance over this mortal sphere, and it did just that. So, formally, I’m putting MADNESS AND INSANITY on hiatus until shortly after Christmas. Note, this COULD mean the hiatus will last until after New Year, too. I just want to clarify that.

Why?

The short of it is this: my dayjob will require an exceedingly large amount of effort from me (and, honestly, everyone else there) until late December. I’m talking 10-12 hour days and weekend work to boot. This leaves little time for maintaining a webcomic plus a lore site plus a guild. Something has to give, and MADNESS AND INSANITY is the first due to the amount of work necessary to keep it going.

This sudden surge was only partially expected, but still somewhat of a surprise. We knew we had something major coming up. However, we didn’t know the weight of the obstacles thrown into our path, nor the consequences of not meeting the goal. This was the reason for the first delay, and is the reason I’m choosing to formally put a hold on things until it’s passed.

This also means, quite obviously, that the “Yoggyopolis” site redesign won’t launch until the hiatus is up, either. I’m really liking some of the changes of ComicPress 2.8, but I need to get reacquainted with reskinning it and that just requires time that I do not currently have.

I humbly and deeply apologize for this.

The Azeroth United art piece and Cuddle-Me-Yoggy plush are still on schedule to be completed by their respective deadline.

This entire post is out-of-character.

As many of you may know, Azeroth United has been running a charity drive since the beginning of November. It’s currently slated to end on December 13th, roughly two weeks from today. While they miraculously shattered their first milestone donations goal within the first few days, they adjusted their target and now have a goal of $10,000.

They’re sitting at roughly 70% of their new goal.

At the beginning of this push, I was asked if I could contribute a unique piece of artwork to the efforts, and I happily agreed. Above you see an early-stage version of what I’ll be contributing. The actual piece of much further along, but I figured this could serve as a good teaser. *grins*

I addition to the custom piece of art, I will also be contributing a Cuddle-Me-Yoggy plush toy, handcrafted by myself. At this time, there are only two in existence: the original prototype and one given to a special friend. The one for Azeroth United will be the third (and shortly after I hope to get three more out to people who have been promised theirs for a long time now).

So as we approach the closure of this event, I wish to urge anyone and everyone to contribute to the goal and help out an important charity.

Next week, MADNESS AND INSANITY will return to its regularly scheduled postings with a new site design (Yoggyopolis). Until then…

I figured recovering from Winter’s Veil would make all the Faceless sleepy and useless, so I’m putting them to work now on Yoggyopolis. I figure… two weeks. It should take two weeks to lay the foundation for the city.

What about Yoggduar? No … no, that sounds like something the Faceless leave behind after they’ve … you know.

“Hey! I just stepped in a big pile of Yoggduar, eww!” Yeah. …no.

OOH! OOH!  I’ll call it Yoggyopolis! Yeah, I think I like that. I’ll even have a newspaper: the Daily Azeroth. Although I’m not sure I like the idea of of that Faceless named Kl’arq flying around in blue and red underwear. I mean, that’s just indecent! He doesn’t even use the cape I gave him for Winter’s Veil!

But Frey wouldn’t give me any candy. I think she dislikes C’thun for whatever reason. I’m sure if she knew it was me she would have filled my Yogg-O-Lantern bucket. Afterall, Frey is a loyal minion that would never turn against me!

…what?

Oh! The children. They had fun, I think. Gorged themselves on candy from all the ancient cities: Ulduar, Ahn’Qiraj, Naz’jatar, Vashj’ir. But we couldn’t find Uldum. I think someone lost it. Oh, and Uldaman was all dirty and dusty, like no one’s cleaned there in years.

Like a sponge. They grow in the ocean, you know… MADNESS AND INSANITY! How much deeper would the Maelstrom be if sponges didn’t grow in the sea? I mean, really.

Don’t look at me! That was the work of those silly titans.  Eonar was all, like “Hey, I need a bath after helping to beat Yoggy up and lock him away! Let me use the ocean!” And Aman’thul was all “Oooh, but you’ll need something to scrub yourself with, have the blacksmith shape something for you!” And Khaz was all… “Okay.”

And, thus, sponges were created. And the coastlines changed. And Eonar stopped smelling like a barn animal.

The Well of Eternity was actually her hot tub…

But, yeah, Maws was my buddy. The most loyalest giant shark an Old God could have as a pet. I don’t think Neptulon treated him right, though. I mean, Maws was always so thin and tiny for a gigantic meat eater! Look at him! Wasting away like some neglected puppy…

So I watched episodes of Dwarf vs. Wild, and Grill Bears showed me how to tie a raft together with string! But I didn’t have any.

So… yeah, sometimes unraveling the Faceless is a fun hobby, especially if it gets me across the sea.

In other news, I heard that Cadistra from over at WoW, Eh won a contest for her retelling of how Elune enslaved (or is that ’saved’) all of Azeroth! Yay! Congratulations, pretty princess cow!

And people wonder why there’s such animosity between the two of us today. HE BEAT ME UP!

But on a happier note, the lovely Cadistra is celebrating the first birthday of her artisan’s comic as well! Slog on over to WoW, Eh and say “fwarble” for me while reading about a contest she’s running. Just ask a question and win an answer!

Also, the rather lazy no-good artisan who draws this thing, Greyseer, is also celebrating a one-year annversarthingie for LoreCrafted, his library of history. I’M NO GOOD AT HISTORY! I have a bad memory. It may try to eat you and people poke at it too often.

The anniversarthingie happened at the beginning of the month, but he was too busy making it look pretty to truly celebrate. How he does that without eyes I’ll never understand.
